Yeast fermentation and strain optimisation for the Ethtec Cellulosic Ethanol Pilot Plant Project
Congratulations to University of Newcastle and Ethanol Technologies Pty Ltd on kicking off an Australian Government Department of Education National Industry PhD Program award. Byron Gentle will be working with Assoc Prof. Ian Grainge and Dr Russell Reeves to engineer yeast for to increase bioethanol production efficiency. An amazing project to support the economic transition to carbon-neutral fuels.

Having watched Alison progressing from an undergraduate chemical engineering student to a professional engineering leader with passion for a better world, I know that I always wanted Alison to be one of (my final few) PhD students and Alison always wanted to read for a meaningful PhD.
