Strategy Development

Campus Plus can help universities, funding bodies and Governments to develop their strategy for research commercialization:

Collaboration
Campus Plus partnered with KPMG to support initial strategic planning activities for the Victorian Government’s $2 billion Brealthrough Victoria Fund. The combined team of KPMG and Campus Plus delivered: An investment framework for the $2 billion fund; a benefits realisation framework; Investment proposal assessment process; Performance Reporting Framework; Tactical Engagement Plan; Investment Plan.

Engagement
The work flow involved close stakeholder engagement with the BVPL CEO and Executive Team, Department of Premier and Cabinet and Treasury. This was facilitated by KPMG and Campus Plus through a series of workshops. Representatives of the combined team also presented to the Breakthrough Victoria Board, chaired by Hon. John Brumby, AO.

Vision
“Our ambitions are big. It’s the biggest investment that the state has ever made in science, technology and innovation, and I think it’s going to drive some big results for the state. Those results will come through business growth, employment growth, productivity enhancement and also through early-stage investment. We’ll be building on some of the brilliant science that we’ve got here, creating new companies, and hopefully breakthroughs that will change the state. This is a quantum shift in terms of what any government has ever done in Victoria before. We’ve had, and continue to have, a fantastic reputation in terms of research, and what we do in our universities and industries, but in terms of how we translate that into therapeutics, into drugs, into products and into manufactured goods that generate jobs and make a difference in the world, we’ve been pretty poor at that. Far too little of what we do turns into things that make a difference in the world.” Honourable John Brumby, AO.
